The Regional Golf Tournament at Hidden Greens North in Solon Springs has been completed and the Northland Pines Eagles have advanced to the Sectional tournament being held on May 28th in Rice Lake, Wisconsin at Turtleback Golf Course.

As a recurring theme, the weather was incredibly challenging. The day began with heavy rain which included lightning pausing play soon after the tournament began. After play resumed, rain continued for the remainder of play. Scores for all teams were higher than season averages but miraculously everyone was able to complete the 18 hole event.
Anderson Kielty led the Eagles with an 83 followed closely by Sam Shrock and Ryder Will with scores of 84. Owen Libby was the fourth qualifying score of 95 for the team, earning them a berth into sectionals.
Using their knowledge of Turtleback from last year, the Eagles are hoping to at least qualify a player or two if not the whole team. Admittedly, qualifying for the state tournament as a team is a big ask for this team considering where they are in the process of developing a consistency in scoring low. We have achieved our goals thus far. We took 3rd in our conference as a team. We have advanced as a team to sectionals. Our last goal is to qualify at least one player into the state tournament. Four of the five varsity players are familiar with Turtleback from last season which gives us a chance to achieve our goal.
