Conference outlook

I do not know a whole lot about our conference when it comes to talking about other teams. I know it will be highly competitive. Have to play at a high level week in and week out.

Keys to your success on offense

Our QB makes us go. We ask a lot our of quarterbacks. They have to run and pass. Our O-line is senior dominated. Our perimeter players are going to have make plays when they get the opportunity.

Keys to your success on defense

Our D-line will be the anchor of the defense. Senior led. We have a lot of new starters in a lot of different spots. Most of the starters got playing time last year, just not at the starting position.

Behind the scenes: Who are some of the people that help your program succeed?

Our equipment managers. I have seven of them. I tell the team all the time they are replaceable but the managers are not.

What is Amherst football all about? What does it mean to be a member of the Amherst Falcons football program?

We ask this question to the seniors during summer camp in front of the whole team during an introduction of each senior. Each senior said its a family feeling. They like being part of something.

Coach’s comments: anything else you’d like to share?

Most of my coaching staff has been together for almost 11 years. This has been key for the success of our program. We have the 3 ex-players helping out. For a head coach their is not greater satisfaction when a graduate comes back and is willing to give back to the program.
