OnFocus Season Preview

Key returners:
Keagen Jirschele (SR), Landen Thomer (SR), Garrett Shupe (SR), Aidan Shaughnessy (SR), Treve Stoffel (SO), Cole Kowalski (SR), David Haskin (SR)
Key newcomers:
Andrew Carlson (SR), Hesed wa Kiluba (SR), Gavin Chmiel (JR), Trent Gorski (JR), Holden Stephens (JR), Sebastian Andersen (SO), Carson Balgord (SO), Mitchell Michlig (SO)
Conference outlook:
Based upon summer league play, we will be extremely competitive with all teams in the conference. Medford, Rhinelander, and Antigo will be our most competitive games in the conference based upon who is returning and how well each team played against us over the summer. Northland Pines, Lakeland, and Tomahawk graduated many of their varsity players from a season ago, I expect them to come on stronger in the second half of conference play as they find their way at the varsity level of competition.
Keys to your success this season:
1. Learning and accepting new roles
2. Learning to play within those new roles
3. Team Unity
4. Executing Defensive and Offensive schemes
Behind the scenes: Who are some of the people that help your program succeed?
Each year, our graduating players have left a legacy upon our program, giving each of the returning playing something to strive for. Knowing where we have been and where we have come from, pushes each years group of players to bring their absolute best to the season. Our program would be no where without the constant encouragement, support, and development of our players from the youth program through the high school teams. Our youth coaches and assistant coaches deserve so much credit for getting each player to follow the vision of the program and get each player ready to compete at the varsity level.
Coach’s comments: anything else you’d like to share?
This years group of players are a lot of fun to coach. They are extremely coachable, love to play for each other, give 100% of themselves to their team and teammates, and have developed a tight knit bond which is the fabric of this group.
