Conference Outlook:
Marathon is the returning champ and is the favorite again. Assumption and Newman lost strong senior classes. Edgar returns almost their whole roster and should be strong. Stratford is a perennial strong program. We hope to be in the mix for the top of the conference.
Keys to success:
We need to adjust to our new roles quickly. Our top 4 are pretty clear. We are looking for another 3 or 4 players to step up and be valuable members to our rotation. Defense and rebounding are always a top priority for us and we must improve in those areas.
Behind the scenes:
Obviously our program is built on our youth program and then passed on to us. My assistants do a great job of developing the kids into varsity players. One person who does not get the credit that is due to her is my wife. She has encouraged and supported me since the beginning. She deserves more credit than anyone knows for the success of our program.
Coach’s comments:
This is my 16th year as head coach and my last year coaching one of our sons. I am also lucky enough to have my son, Cooper, as one of my assistants. That makes this season a special one. I’ve coached these six seniors since they were in 3rd grade. They hold a special place in my heart and I hope we can have a successful season for them.
