This will be an exciting year to see who wins the last conference championship in the CWC-Small. With going to the Central WI Marawood Conference next year, the 4 teams left in the CWC Small will keep their rivalries alive and we will get back past rivalries in Pittsville, Abby, Auburndale and Edgar. I feel good about our chances for repeating as conference champs. We are very young at the skilled positions, but our old guys on the OL and DL will be the big play makers to make our season successful.
We need to stay healthy, get our young skilled players up to speed, and create more turnovers than we give away. Our 3 senior linemen of Gunner Krause, Brad Jorgensen, and Adam Haasl need to carry the weight of the team on their shoulders. Manny Schultz is expected to have a great year carrying the ball, too. Mason Kubis is the best kicker who I’ve ever coached, and I am excited to see what we can do in the special teams department.
Behind the scenes: Who are some of the people that help your program succeed? From our administration to our managers, they all play a big part. Our AD, Joe Birkhauser does a great job behind the scenes. Lorna Holewinski has helped me tremendously with our fundraising efforts. Larry Depatie with mowing our practice field. My daughter, Breana, with all she does for me as a manager and having everything ready to go for our team. Greg Grundhoffer and Jimmy Austin for doing our team stats. Our film guys including Evan Harris and several former players of mine. The parents and grandparents for bringing their sons to practice and helping where they can, to make our team better.
