Key newcomers:
Undetermined at this time (teams decided Wednesday 8/16) – we are very fortunate to have a healthy program full of young players, many of which have the capability to step up to the challenge of Varsity soccer.
Conference outlook:
We have our sights set on another conference championship this year. The conference will have a new look with a couple of new coaches in the Valley and it will be interesting to see how those teams develop and change with new leadership. I anticipate Stevens Point fielding an extremely strong team this year.
Keys to your success this season:
One of our major keys to success this year will be the level of hard work that our players put into the training sessions and games. We will be entering the season with a target on our backs as returning conference champions and it will be imperative that we step up to the challenge.
Last year we had a lot of injuries in our first month of play that slowed our season progression. If we can stay healthy, I believe we will be in line for a very successful season.
Behind the scenes: Who are some of the people that help your program succeed?
Michael Mathies (Athletic Director) has done a terrific job in his short tenure (in that role) at Everest. Our booster club has done a great job of providing us with the equipment and coaching we need to be successful. I think we have some of the best parents in the conference that are constantly working to make the fall soccer season an enjoyable experience for all.
