OnFocus Season Preview

Coaching staff:

Head Jake KNapmiller, Ally Meserole, Garrett Rau, Timoly Brodhagen, Dillon Novak, Lexie balliet, Mel Kunze, John Kreeger, Marlin Pogodzinski, Dylan Bloch

Key returners:

Our kids with state qualifying experience on the girls side are chloe cihlar, sydney falteisek, Brsieda Escalera, Sommer Brodhagen.  Other experienced upperclassmen would be margo pogozinski and jackie soto in the throws and Iris Crus Ana Flores and Azul Diaz in the distance events.
Boys distance returns experience with Jack Schindler.  Sprints are pretty young with Christian Fuentes having the most speed and jumping ability out of returners.  Throws will rely on guys to push each other but the upperclassmen of Fernando Perez and Daniel Davila will be asked to lead!

Key newcomers:

It is hard to tell who will step up with competition starts but on the girls side the freshman all have talent.  The work ethic, ability to maturely handle the ability to focus when needed, and desire to compete are the questions marks.
Our guys have some freshman and as usual with boys, the maturity and developement doesn’t happen until they are upperclassmen.  We are looking them to compete every chance they get, work to get better and be willing to try new things!

Conference outlook:

Track is so hard to tell.  Our conference meet is always one of the best small school meets in the state and has many state champs come from it!  The north has some really strong distance programs and south has massive programs that have a lot of tradition and success.

Keys to your success this season:

We will need to score points in relays because we don’t seem to have individuals who are really raising above the pack to be able to lean on.  As long as we focus on the process of getting better each week, and not the results, we will be very competitive!
