2024 OnFocus Season Preview: Amherst Falcons Volleyball
Coaching staff:
Myself- Kim Beaudoin, Jenni Patoka, and Payton Wester
Key returners:
We have 8 returning varsity players who will be key to our team’s success this year. Our returning back row players: libero, Makenna Orsund(Sr) and defensive specialist, Claire Lewallen(Sr) have definitely grown into their roles. They have great passing platforms and their speed to the ball will help us defensively. Setter: Kayla Cullen is a much more polished and confident setter. She is already building comfort and trust in her young hitters. Our returning heavy hitters will be Outsides: Lexi Wierzba(So), and Zoe Skupien(Sr), they can terminate the ball and have big blocks. And returning All-Conference Middle: Amara Beaudoin(Sr). She is hard to defend with great vision of the court, and has a fantastic shot selection. All of returners knowledge of the game has grown immensely.
Key newcomers:
We have some players who are not new to the team but have some different roles for us this season:
Middle: Ivy Boelk (So) will be unstoppable at the net with her hitting and blocking. Outside: Helana Konkol(Sr) has a powerful swing.
Keys to our success this season:
The big keys to our success will be playing as a team, for each other. We should have big blocks and huge swings at the net, fantastic serving, and we are defensively sound.
I am so excited to start my second season coaching this great group of athletes! We will continue to improve throughout the season and we will enjoy the ride while doing it!
