Conference outlook:
The conference will be as competitive as I can remember. Newman is losing a strong senior
group but is a state caliber program. Assumption is led by three seniors that have played a lot of varsity golf and will be very strong. Prentice will be young, but maybe the most talented of the four groups. We return a sectional team with two seniors that are in their fourth year of varsity and have two state appearances. It should be a battle each and every conference meet.
Keys to your success this season:
If we use our experience as an advantage, and not get discouraged during bad holes or bad
rounds. Our focus for the entire season will be on handling our emotions to scratch out the
best round we can during every opportunity we have. On top of that, we need to develop
some younger golfers quickly to fill in our five spot and add some depth. If we can play our
best golf when it matters, and find some depth we should have a successful season.
Coaches Comments
I am looking forward to a competitive regular season in conference and in our invites. Hopefully our schedule will help us in the playoffs be as tested and prepared as we need to be. Our conference is small, but has produced a state representative for the past three years, and this year it may be the most balanced. Our goal is to use these experiences to play our best golf during the two weeks it matters most.
