Coaching staff: Tanya Tessmann–Head/varsity coach; Denise Poetzl–Assistant/JV Coach; Kirsten Semenchuk–Assistant
Key returners: Senior Sophia Brunner (Goalie/captain/2023 1st Team All Conf); Senior Sierra Tessmann (midfield/captain/2023 Unanamous 1st Team All Conf); Junior Talyn Peterson (Defense/2023 2nd Team All Conf); Junior Megan Schaefer (Midfield/2023 Honorable Mention Conf); Senior Madison Clarkson (Midfield/2023 Honorable Mention Conf); Senior Masaeda Krug; Sophomore Mallory Richter (wing)…all among the 15 returning varsity players.
Key newcomers: 4 new players to varsity, including Junior Riley Clark and Freshman Peyton Boelk (defense and back up goalie).
Conference outlook: Tight for GNC soccer.
Keys to your success this season: With 15 returning varsity players, they have experience together and feel comfortable with each other. They are familiar with one another, including each other’s strengths, weaknesses and goals. They also have history & knowledge of other teams from past years and know what they want to accomplish.
Coach’s comments: anything else you’d like to share? Currently first 8 games are home; all away in May except one. Excellent turnout this year with over 40 players, anticipating being able to continue to add depth to varsity the next few years.
