2024 OnFocus Season Preview: Port Edwards Softball
Coaching staff: Max Ayres (Head Coach), Riley Thomas (Assistant Coach), Cary Smith (Volunteer)
Key returners: Alliyah Ruiz, Annie Friday, Mia Rogers, Aubree Shroda (out with injury), Taylin McDonald, Breanna Ingram, Evie Fletcher, Lilly Fletcher, Sierra Eklund, Morgan Sturgis, and Mackenzie Orheim.
Key newcomers: Aubreigh Martinson, Paige Van Meter, Aliya Ostrum, Valedia Hernandez, Brooke Altman, and Milie Robinson.
Conference outlook: Our conference always has some great talent in it with the likes of Pacelli, Almond-Bancroft, and Pittsville in it. Tri County is always a tough place to play and Rosholt brings back a lot of talent. It is going to be a tough conference again this year and we are going to have to earn our spot. We will look to lean on some of our players who have varsity experience to help us win games.
Keys to your success this season: After losing a few girls to injury already from prior sports seasons, we are going to help to have some of our underclassmen step in and provide some stability for us in multiple positions. We are going to lean on our three seniors and continue building on our back to back 10 win seasons.
Coach’s comments: anything else you’d like to share? — Nothing more. How about this weather!? After spring break, games are going to be going on almost every night and we can only ask the weather to keep being what it has been this year.
