MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has announced that starting Friday, Nov. 24, 2024, state park and forest annual admission stickers, as well as trail passes, will be available for purchase.

Share the joy of the great outdoors by acquiring admission stickers and trail passes for your family, friends, and colleagues. To ensure delivery before the holidays, the DNR suggests making sticker purchases by Friday, Dec. 8.

Resident and nonresident annual admission stickers can be obtained online or at individual state park and forest locations through drive-up window service, self-registration kiosks, or over the phone. State trail passes are exclusively available at individual properties or authorized vendors.

Expressing gratitude for Wisconsin’s state parks, forests, trails, and recreation areas, Steve Schmelzer, Director of DNR’s Bureau of Parks and Recreation Management, encourages obtaining the 2024 annual vehicle admission sticker as a way to support these beloved destinations. “From biking to camping to skiing, fishing piers, and adaptive equipment, our state park system caters to everyone,” he said.

The 2024 state park admission sticker, featuring an illustration of a loon, provides access to over 60 state parks, forests, and recreation areas throughout Wisconsin. A yearly sticker or daily admission pass is mandatory for all motor vehicles visiting state parks and recreation areas, with some state forest and trail parking areas also requiring the annual sticker or daily admission pass.

For individuals aged 16 and older engaged in biking, in-line skating, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, or off-highway motorcycling on specific state trails, a state trail pass is obligatory. However, walking or hiking does not require a state trail pass.

Wisconsin residents can acquire an annual vehicle admission sticker for $28, while nonresidents can obtain it for $38. Additional vehicle stickers for households with more than one registered vehicle are available at $15.50 for residents and $20.50 for nonresidents. A senior citizen annual sticker is priced at $13 for Wisconsin residents aged 65 and older. Annual trail passes are available for both residents and nonresidents at $25.

Both 2024 annual vehicle admission stickers and trail passes remain valid from the date of purchase through Dec. 31, 2024.

Those interested in purchasing 20 or more annual admission stickers can email [email protected], and DNR staff will assist with the order.
