Connecticut tops our ranking with a total impact score of 20.00. 100% of those we surveyed in Connecticut mentioned that they closely monitored inflation on a monthly basis. Whilst they admitted having felt the negative impact of inflation in the last two years, none of the businesses felt forced to adjust their pricing strategy. Moreover, the business owners feel positive about their profitability in 2025, after successfully implementing strategies to fight inflation.
New Mexico ranked second with a total impact score of 30.00 out of 100. Whilst 3 in 4 business owners admitted having been negatively impacted by inflation in the last 24 months, only 25% had to adjust their pricing inflation because of the soaring inflation. Despite that, 50% lean on the cautious side by expecting their profits to be impacted by inflation in 2025.
New Jersey stands in the third place, with a slightly higher total impact score of 35.00. Three quarters of New Jersey have felt the pinch of inflation in the past two years, leading over half (58%) to adjust their pricing strategy to stay afloat. That said, half of New Jersey business owners are optimistic about their profits in 2025 and trust the strategies they have put in place to mitigate the impact of inflation, should the rates keep climbing.
Illinois and Idaho complete the top 5 of the states where business owners are the most resilient to inflation.

According to our report, Energy & Utilities (e.g. Electricity, gas) has been the least impacted industry by inflation in the last 24 months. None of the businesses have reported a significant impact of inflation on their business, and the business owners remain confident their profitability margin will not be impacted in 2025.
Agriculture (including foresting and fishing) has been the second most resilient industry, despite feeling the pinch of inflation in the last two years. Whilst all business owners admitted having been negatively impacted by inflation, they also remained highly positive about their future, putting full trust into their strategies to mitigate inflation, should it increase further in Q1 2025.
Finance & Insurance rank as the third most resilient industry to inflation. Whilst 84% of businesses in this sector admitted they had to adjust their pricing strategy in 2024 because of inflation, they all remain optimistic that those measures will be sufficient to ensure a stress-free 2025.
