MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Seventeen years after the tragic loss of Brittany Zimmermann on April 2, 2008, the Marshfield community continues to celebrate her life and legacy through the annual “Paws For Brittany” event. Hosted by the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter (MAPS), this year’s walk/run is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Wildwood Park, offering a meaningful opportunity for the community to come together in remembrance of a beloved daughter, friend, and animal advocate.
Zimmermann, remembered for her compassion and dedication to helping others, left an indelible mark on Marshfield. The “Paws For Brittany” event, now in its seventeenth year, serves as both a tribute to her memory and a fundraiser for MAPS, an organization that aligns with her passion for animal welfare. Set against the scenic backdrop of Wildwood Park, the event promises a day of reflection, community spirit, and support for a cause close to Zimmermann’s heart.
Online registration is currently open at www.marshfieldpetshelter.org/pawsforbrittany. Those who register before the early bird deadline of April 23, 2025, will receive an exclusive 2025 event t-shirt. After that date, the registration fee will increase to $40. The event kicks off on May 10 with check-in and registration at 8:00 AM, followed by the walk/run at 9:00 AM. Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome to join, making it an inclusive celebration of Zimmermann’s legacy.
This year’s event will also feature a special addition: a photo booth hosted by Lifeline Event Services, available from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, adding a fun and memorable element to the morning’s activities.
All proceeds from “Paws For Brittany” will directly support the care of rescued animals at MAPS, ensuring that Zimmermann’s love for animals continues to make a difference in the community.
