24 Year-Old Involved in Marathon County Crash Identified

MARATHON COUNTY, WI (OnFocus) – The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of State Highway 107 and County Highway L in the Town of Hamburg on October 8, 2024, at approximately 5:31 p.m. As a result of the crash, the driver of one of the vehicles was airlifted to an area hospital for life-threatening injuries, while the passenger of the vehicle was transported with non-life-threatening injuries. The second driver did not suffer any injuries.

On October 11, 2024, the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office was notified the driver, who was air-lifted, died of injuries sustained from the crash. The driver was identified as 24-year-old Luis Alberto Cerrato Lanzas of Wausau, WI.
