TOWN OF WAUSAU, WI (OnFocus) – The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two-vehicle crash on December 30, 2024, near the intersection of State Highway 52 and County Road X in the Town of Wausau. As a result of the crash, 28-year-old Elroy F. Hendrickson of Wausau was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported. Following the crash, State Highway 52 was closed for approximately four hours.
The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office has been notified by the Marathon County Medical Examiner’s Office that Mr. Hendrickson has died from his injuries.
The Marathon County Forensic Mapping Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident.
The Town of Wausau First Responders, Town of Wausau Fire, City of Wausau Fire and EMS, Wisconsin State Patrol, Marathon County Highway Department, and the Marathon County Medical Examiner’s Office assisted at the scene.
