Neillsville, WI (OnFocus)– An incident occurred on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, when the Neillsville Police Department responded to a report of a juvenile being shot at a residence in the 500 block of West 7th Street.
Officers arrived at the scene around 8:56 a.m. and found a 4-year-old girl from Neillsville with a gunshot wound. The young girl was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries, which have been confirmed as non-life-threatening.
Initial investigations indicate that the shooting involved a juvenile relative who discharged a handgun. Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing.
