Voting for the OnFocus Athlete of the Week saw over 2300 votes cast, an incredible number from fans and schools supporting our area’s top student athletes. A fantasitc two-way race for the top saw two athletes combine for over 1700 votes!
Abbotsford/Colby Baseball’s JV Castillo garnered 910 votes to take the title of OnFocus Athlete of the Week, May 1 – May 7.
Castillo finished just ahead of second place Micah Keller of Mosinee Softball who received 843 votes.
Cristin Casey of Assumption Softball picked up 321 votes to finish third. In fourth place was Evan Haley of Pittsville Baseball and taking fifth were the duo of Blake Raab and Aden Cherney of Auburndale Baseball with 117 votes.

OnFocus Athlete of the Week, May 1 to May 7
- Evan Haley, Pittsville Baseball – Haley pitched a one-hitter as Pittsville blanked Iola-Scandinavia 8-0. Haley led the Panthers at the plate, going 3X4 with 3 runs scored and a pair of RBI.
- Cristin Casey, Assumption Softball – Casey led the Royals with a 4×4 day at the plate, scoring 2 runs and collecting 2 RBI as Assumption defeated Athens 7-3.
- Micah Keller, Mosinee Softball – Keller had a productive week for Mosinee, and played key roles in Mosinee’s impressive week. Keller was 2X4 in the Indians’ 5-4 win over Lakeland, had two more hits in Mosinee’s 5-4 win over DePere, and was 4X4 in Mosinee’s 14-0 rout of Wisconsin Dells.
- JV Castillo, Abbotsford/Colby Baseball – Castillo is the sparkplug that makes the Falcons run, leading the team with a .560 batting average in Conference play, and leads the team with 9 stolen bases.
- Blake Raab / Aden Cherney, Auburndale Baseball – Raab and Cherney combined on the mound for a pair of wins on Saturday. Raab earned the W in an 8-0 shutout of Peshtigo and Cherney followed with a complete game win as the Eagles defeated Wittenberg-Birnamwood, 13-3.
