Abbotsford Football Explodes Past Iola-Scandinavia

The Abbotsford Falcons used big plays in the running game to spark a surge past Iola-Scandinavia in nonconference football, winning 63-27.

I-Scan opened the scoring with a Parker Gullixson to Ryan Kampert 28 yard touchdown on the first possession of the game.

Abbotsford then scored on 1 play drives, with freshman Christian Fuentes exploding for a 60 yard run and junior quarterback JV Castillo scoring on a 90 yard gallop. Irvin Aguilera-Lozoya’s 3 yard touchdown gave Abby a 19-7 first quarter lead.

Fuentes rushed 13 times for 373 yards and collected five touchdowns for Abbotsford.

I-Scan came back on a Gullixson to Jackson Fredy 15 yard scoring strike just two minutes into the second quarter.

Gullixson collected 151 yards on 26 carries and two touchdowns to lead I-Scan.

Fuentes then added another pair of long touchdown runs, gains of 64 and 93 yards.

Gullixson and Fuentes added a touchdown for their teams before the half, and the Falcons led 42-21.

Following the intermission, the Falcons added touchdown runs from Castillo(62 yards), Jacob Hirsch(34 yards) and Fuentes(85 yards.)
