Abbotsford/Colby Baseball swept a doubleheader from the Athens Bluejays 14-2 and 11-4.
In game one, Payton Schrieber led the way offensively for Abby/Colby going 3-3 with 2 home runs and six RBI. JV Castillo went 2-3 with 4 runs scored, and 2 walks.
Schrieber started and got the win going 4.2 innings giving up 1 earned run on 4 hits, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. JV Castillo would pitch the final 2.1 giving up 1 earned run on 3 hits, 1 walk, and 4 strikeouts.
Athens was led at the plate by Daxton Deithelm who went 2-3, scoring both runs and walking once.
Nick Pittman started on the mound going 5.2 innings, giving up 10 runs, 7 earned, on 6 hits, 5 walks, and 1 strikeout. Ty Johnson would finish the game going 1.1 innings, giving up 4 earned runs on 5 hits, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts.
In game two, Blake Bargander led the way offensively for Abby/Colby going 2-3 with 2 RBI, and 2 stolen bases. Evan Ries went 2-3 with a home run, 2 RBI.
JV Castillo would start and get the win going 2.2 innings giving up just a hit with 3 strikeouts. Carlos Lara went .1 of an inning giving up nothing, Reis would go the final two giving up 4 runs, 1 earned, on three hits and two walks.
