TOWN OF ELDERON, MARATHON COUNTY, WI (OnFocus) – On Thursday February 23, 2023, at approximately 3:47 am, the Marathon County 911 Center received a call of a house fire in the 183900 block of State Highway 153 in the Village of Elderon.
Agencies from Wittenberg Fire and Ambulance, Hatley Fire, Ringle Fire, The Salvation Army, and the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and discovered an engulfed residence.
Crews on scene are still working to extinguish the fire. State Highway 153 west of State Highway 49 is currently closed due to the active scene. Please use an alternative route if traveling near the Village of Elderon.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office will provide additional information when it becomes available.
