MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The unanticipated construction costs for the Adler Trail, which exceeded the initial budget, have now been fully funded thanks to generous grants and donations. This marks a significant milestone for the trail project, which is currently undergoing improvements to better serve the Marshfield community.

A $175,499 grant from the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) was instrumental in covering the majority of the additional costs. TAP, a program that supports projects aimed at improving non-motorized transportation, saw the value in enhancing the trail for both recreational and commuting purposes.

In addition to the TAP grant, the Marshfield Area Friends of the Trails contributed a generous $25,000 donation, demonstrating the local community’s strong support for the project. Their commitment to improving Marshfield’s outdoor spaces has been vital in advancing the development of the trail.

The final piece of funding came from a private donation of $44,217, rounding out the total needed to complete the paving of the Adler Trail. This contribution underscores the community’s dedication to preserving and enhancing the city’s recreational spaces.

The trail, which runs through scenic areas of Marshfield, is expected to be fully paved and completed by the end of October. Once finished, the improvements will offer a smoother and more accessible path for walkers, runners, and cyclists alike.

The Adler Trail project has been an important initiative for Marshfield, providing a space for residents to enjoy the outdoors while promoting healthy, active lifestyles. With the support of grants and community contributions, this vision is becoming a reality, and residents can look forward to enjoying the improved trail in the near future.
