We take a closer look at Almond-Bancroft graduate and multi-sport athlete Raegen Omernik, to get a better idea who she is, with our world-famous interview: ‘Pancakes or Waffles?’

OnFocus: What subjects/classes have been your favorite, and why?

 Omernik: SPANISH because we got to watch Spanish Soap Operas

OnFocus: What are your hobbies?

 Omernik: Thrifting especially for vintage items and clothing!

OnFocus:  What words of wisdom can you give to other student-athletes?

 Omernik: Just have fun, don’t overthink and stress about everything.  

OnFocus: Who is/was your first favorite teacher and why?


Omernik: Mr. Bradley, he is a fun laid back teacher but also is a big supporter of the girls athletic programs at our school.

OnFocus: What is the most unusual food you have eaten?

 Omernik: Alligator meat, reminds me of chicken!

OnFocus: What is your favorite music to listen to?

 Omernik: Anything by Louis Tomlinson, I just saw him in concert in June!

OnFocus:  What are your plans after high school?

 Omernik: Attending UW-Madison to study business.  Focusing on supply chain management in hopes of becoming a fashion buyer.

OnFocus:  If they made a movie about you, and your life,  what would it be called?

 Omernik: Life of a Shopaholic.

OnFocus: What sports did you play throughout your high school career?

 Omernik: Softball, basketball, and volleyball

OnFocus: Which teammate would you not want to be stranded with on a deserted island?

 Omernik: Aaliyah or Laney, no explanation needed!

OnFocus:  What are some memorable moments you have had as an athlete?

 Omernik: Winning conference champs for softball and basketball. Getting to play with my sister Oakley this past year!

OnFocus:  Who are your favorite athletes and/or teams?

 Omernik: Badgers and Bucks

OnFocus: What do you enjoy most about competing in front of family, friends and fans?

 Omernik: How hyped they can get and how supportive they are.

OnFocus:  Do you have a funny or unusual moment(s) you have experienced in sports?

 Omernik: A girl and I were both going after a ball and the girl landed on me and knocked her tooth out on the floor

OnFocus: What’s the best thing about being a student-athlete?

 Omernik: It’s a lot of fun to be with your friends and be able to achieve individual goals as well as reaching the team goals.  

OnFocus:  What words of wisdom can you give to other student-athletes?

 Omernik: Just have fun, don’t overthink and stress about everything.  

OnFocus: Lastly, pancakes or waffles?

 Omernik: PANCAKES
