Over 5800 sports fans read about the amazing athletic performances by area athletes last week. Three athletes topped the 200 vote mark, with Amherst Cross Country’s Max Voss collecting 448 votes to earn the title of OnFocus Athlete of the Week, October 22 – October 28.
Picking up an impressive 339 votes to earn second place was Autumn Michalski of Chequamegon Cross Country.
Third place went to Medford Cross Country’s Meredith Richter, with 203 votes.
OnFocus Athlete of the Week, October 22 – October 28
- Max Voss, Amherst Boys Cross Country – Voss claimed second place at the Division 2 Boys Cross Country, just ten seconds behind first place finisher Noah Kuhn of Edgewood.
- Autumn Michalski, Chequamegon Girls Cross Country – Michalski claimed the Division 3 Girls Cross Country State Championship on Saturday, finishing 53 seconds ahead of the field.
- Nora Gremban, Northland Pines Girls Cross Country – Gremban took the Division 2 Title Saturday at the WIAA State Cross Country Championships, finishing 23 seconds ahead of the field. Gremban finished third in 2021 and second at last year’s championships.
- Meredith Richter, Medford Girls Cross Country(nominated online) – Richter claimed 6th place at the WIAA Division 2 State Cross Country Championships on Saturday.
- Owen Clark, Lakeland Union Boys Cross Country(nominated online) – Clark finished in sixth place at the WIAA Division 3 Boys Cross Country Meet on Saturday.
- Luke Eiden, Pacelli Boys Cross Country (nominated online) – Eiden finished in 7th place at the WIAA Division 3 Boys Cross Country Meet on Saturday.
