Amherst Golfers Take First at Opening Leg of CWC Conference Play, Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Seegmiller Earns Medalist Honors

Amherst took the first leg of the Central Wisconsin Conference Golf Meet, with a 23 shot advantage over second place Weyauwega-Fremont.

“Today presented the field with brutal conditions with rain at times, high wind and bitter cold, but we were able to at least put ourselves in the top of the conference teams. We didn’t know going out how we would play since mother nature hasn’t allowed us much time to actually be on the course, shared Wittenberg-Birnamwood Head Golf Coach Chris Bartletti. “Overall we still need to be much better as a team if we want to compete.”

Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s George Seegmiller earned medalist honors with a 77.
“The biggest bright spot was how George (Seegmiller) played. He was meet medalist in tough conditions and beat his former personal best competitive round. He is a player we will need to lean heavily on this year, and this type of start hopefully signals a special season for him,”  Bartletti added.
