Amherst Proves Their #2 Ranking is Deserved

Stratford (OnFocus) – A match up of #2 and #3 saw the visiting Amherst Falcons showcase they deserved their ranking by picking up a convincing 28-13 win over the Tigers.

Amherst produced a consistent effort all night long, scoring a touchdown in each quarter.

Tristan Shelvan had touchdown runs of 21 and 1 yards, and also threw a 23  yard strike to Jake Hoffman.

Bryan Groshek had the Falcons’ other score with a 67 yard run.

Gross led Stratford with 52 yards rushing on 17 carries.

Stratford’s scores were touchdown throws from Max Vanderhoof to Beau Gross for 6 yards and 19 yards to Rafie Smart.

Devin Ulrich led the Tigers in receiving with 3 receptions for 65 yards.

Shelvan rushed for 102 yards on 24 carries to lead all rushers. He also completed 3 of 5 passes for 65 yards.

Stratford’s defense was led by Vanderhoof and Dillon Kirsch, each with 5 tackles.
