Auburndale graduated and multi-sport student-athlete Alex Willfahrt goes under the microscope with our world-famous interview, ‘Pancakes or Waffles?’

OnFocus: What subjects/classes have been your favorite, and why?

Willfahrt: Phy Ed and English because they were both easy classes and I enjoyed them. 

OnFocus: What do you enjoy most about competing in front of family, friends and fans?

Willfahrt: I get to represent my family who watches me  and when there are a lot of fans the energy makes it even more exciting. 

Willfahrt: OnFocus: What are your hobbies?

 I like to lift and watch sports. 

OnFocus: Who is/was your first favorite teacher and why?


Willfahrt: My first favorite teacher was Mr. Gunderman because we would always talk about sports and we did a fantasy basketball league.

OnFocus: What is the most unusual food you have eaten?

Willfahrt:  I have not eaten anything too unusual that I can remember so probably just something random when I was young.

OnFocus: What is your favorite music to listen to?

Willfahrt: I mainly listen to rap. My favorite artists are Drake, Gunna, and Lil Baby. 

OnFocus:  What are your plans after high school?

Willfahrt: I am attending UW- LaCrosse to study business. 

OnFocus:  If they made a movie about you, and your life,  what would it be called?

Willfahrt: Unforgettable

OnFocus: What sports did you play throughout your high school career?

Willfahrt: I played football, basketball, and baseball.

OnFocus: Which teammate would you not want to be stranded with on a deserted island?

Willfahrt: Luke Yeske

OnFocus:  What are some memorable moments you have had as an athlete?

Willfahrt: Beating Colby in football to get a conference championship. Beating Marathon in the sectional semi-finals. Winning regionals in baseball. 

OnFocus:  Who are your favorite athletes and/or teams?

Willfahrt: Lebron James is my favorite athlete. My favorite teams are the Packers, Bucks, and Brewers. 

OnFocus: What do you enjoy most about competing in front of family, friends and fans?

Willfahrt: I get to represent my family who watches me  and when there are a lot of fans the energy makes it even more exciting. 

OnFocus:  Do you have a funny or unusual moment(s) you have experienced in sports?

Willfahrt: I missed two dunk attempts in one game. 

OnFocus: What’s the best thing about being a student-athlete?

Willfahrt: You get to build even closer relationships to your teammates and friends by playing sports. 

OnFocus:  What words of wisdom can you give to other student-athletes?

Willfahrt:  Take in every moment because it goes by fast 

OnFocus: Lastly, pancakes or waffles?

Willfahrt: Pancakes
