Honoring the Memory of Brittany with Paws for Brittany Event
MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Sixteen years ago on April 2, 2008, the Marshfield community lost a beloved daughter, friend, and compassionate advocate, Brittany Zimmermann. In remembrance of her legacy, Marshfield Area Pet Shelter invites everyone to join the annual “Paws for Brittany” event on May 11, 2024.
“Paws for Brittany” is not just a walk/run; it’s a heartfelt tribute to a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many. This year, the event will take place at Wildwood Park, where participants will gather to celebrate Brittany’s life and passion for animals.
Online registration is now open at www.PawsForBrittany.com. Early registrants who sign up before April 23 will receive the exclusive 2024 event t-shirt. After April 23, registration will increase to $35.
The event will kick off on Saturday, May 11th, with registration/check-in beginning at 8am, followed by the walk/run starting promptly at 9am. Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome to join for a day filled with camaraderie, remembrance, and support for a cause that was dear to Brittany’s heart. New to the event this year is a photo booth hosted by Lifeline Event Services from 8am to 11am and Stone Press Food Truck serving from 10am to 12pm.
Proceeds from the “Paws for Brittany” event will benefit rescued animals, a cause that Brittany held close to her heart. For those unable to attend the event but who still wish to contribute, donations can be made in Brittany’s memory at www.PawsForBrittany.com.
“We are honored to continue Brittany’s legacy by supporting rescued animals, a cause that was deeply meaningful to her,” said Karen Rau, MAPS Executive Director. “We invite everyone to join us as we ‘paws’ to remember Brittany and make a positive difference in the lives of animals in need.”
