The Aquinas Blugolds won their second straight state title, taking down Mayville 22-14.
Jackson Flottmeyer threw for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns. Collin Conzemius had 115 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns.
After a scoreless first quarter, Mayville would get on the board first on a Blake Schraufnagel 10-yard touchdown run.
Aquinas would respond with a Calvin Hardgrove 3-yard touchdown run to take an 8-7 lead with 3:17 left in the 2nd. Under four minutes later Flottmeyer would connect with Conzemius for a 71-yard touchdown pass, giving Aquinas a 14-7 halftime lead.
After a scoreless 3rd Quarter, Mayville would tie it up on a Damien Hauglie 12-yard touchdown run, but the Blugolds responded with just over 2:00 left when Flottmeyer connected with Conzemius for a 27-yard touchdown pass to give Aquinas the 22-14 win and their second straight state title.
