Assumption and Newman split in a Marawood Conference Doubleheader at Witter Field, as the Royals won game one 6-3 followed by Newman taking the nightcap 6-4.
In the opener, the Royals jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings and held on for the win.
Jackson Varline doubled for Newman, with Ryan Shaw and Nick LeBerg collecting doubles for Assumption.
