ATHENS, WI (OnFocus) – An accident occurred at the corner of West Village Limits Road and Mueller Street in the Village of Athens that left four injured on Monday, Dec. 6.
The accident was reported a little before 5 p.m. and involved two vehicles. A truck was heading eastbound on Mueller Street when the driver of a 2012 Toyota Corolla attempted to turn left to go northbound on West Village Limits Road but didn’t see the vehicle coming towards her.
The truck hit the turning vehicle in the passenger side doors and both vehicles came to rest near a power pole at the corner of the two streets.
The driver of the turning vehicle said she tried to stop but could not and was cited for failing to yield to oncoming traffic despite the windy and icy conditions.
The four occupants of the turning vehicle all had suspected minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals. The two occupants of the truck were unharmed but their vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
