Athens edges Auburndale in Marawood wrestling dual

AUBURNDALE – Auburndale won one match by pin and another by technical fall, but lost a Marawood Conference dual meet to Athens 40-29 on Thursday night at Auburndale High School.

Isaiah Hasenohrl won with a first-period pin at 138 pounds and Noah Altmann won by technical fall at 113 for Auburndale’s only wins among the seven matches wrestled.

Auburndale and Athens each won two matches by forfeit, and there were two weights (182 and 106) where neither team had a wrestler available.

Athens won the remaining five matches that were contested, four by pin and one by major decision.

Auburndale will compete at the Eau Claire North Invitational on Saturday.
