OnFocus – On Thursday June 18, 2020 at approximately 7:09 PM Wood County Communication Center received a call of a single All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) accident on Ten Mile Avenue near County Highway Z. Information was received that one person was injured as a result of this accident.
Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department/Ambulance, Nekoosa Fire Department, Saratoga First Responders, Wood County Rescue, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and Ascension Wisconsin Spirit Medical Transport responded to the scene.
During initial investigation, Deputies learned the ATV had been traveling Eastbound on Ten Mile Avenue, left the roadway, and struck a tree in the north ditch line. Operator was ejected from the ATV, and sustained serious injuries. The operator was transported to Marshfield Medical Center by Ascension Wisconsin Spirit Medical transport.
This incident is still under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource and Wood County Sheriff’s Department.
