The Auburndale Eagles look to improve upon their 2022 season, when they finished with a 10-13 record.

Head Coach Jay Anderson returns for his second season, and despite losing just three seniors from last year’s team, there are some big shoes to fill.

“We are looking for continued improvement. We only had three seniors graduate from last year’s team, but they provided a lot of leadership and production,” Anderson shared.

Anderson has a strong nucleus of players the team will rely on, along with key stats:

  • Connor Brandl, .292, 11 runs
  • Sloan Welch, .273, 11 RBI
  • Ian Brown, 2-3, 3.50 ERA
  • Aden Cherney, .255, 11 runs
  • Caden Weinfurther, .291
  • Mason Rachu
  • Tim Schmitt

“We have experience returning but we  are still young. We need to get improved production from our returning players,” Anderson noted. “We had too many strikeouts last year which caused low production. We have to find a way to replace 2/3 of our pitching.”

Also joining the Eagles this season:

  • Alex Willfahrt(injured last season)
  • Trayton Weber
  • Blake Raab

“We have others that will have a chance but we need to see more of them,” Anderson explained.
