Auburndale boys basketball drills nine 3-pointers, rolls past Athens

AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale boys basketball team made nine 3-pointers and pulled past Athens 67-42 in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday night at Auburndale High School.

Colton Wright hit five 3-pointers and Caleb Weinfurter added two more, as both finished with 19 points to lead the way for the Apaches (2-0 overall and Marawood Conference South Division).

Auburndale raced out to a 32-16 lead by halftime and finished off with a 25-point victory.

Nine different Auburndale players scored in the victory.

Seth Coker led Athens (0-2 overall and Marawood North) with 10 points.

The Apaches host Marshfield Columbus Catholic (4-0) for a nonconference game on Monday.
