Auburndale boys basketball holds off Prentice for sixth-straight win

PRENTICE – The Auburndale boys basketball team won its sixth-straight game, beating Prentice 60-55 in a Marawood Conference crossover Friday night at Prentice High School.

The Apaches led 30-23 at halftime and held off Prentice in the second half to earn the five-point win.

Auburndale is now 16-2 overall and 12-1 in the Marawood South. Prentice falls to 9-7 and 6-7 in the Marawood North.

Colton Wright had 17 points, Aaron Marth added 12, and Cooper Weinfurter scored 11 for the Apaches.

Auburndale pulled out the win with a decisive advantage at the free-throw line, making 16 of 20 while Prentice was just 5 of 13.

Auburndale hosts Port Edwards in a nonconference game Monday.
