Voting for the OnFocus Team of the Week saw two teams stand far above the rest. Taking the title of OnFocus Team of the Week, March 5 to March 11 was Auburndale Boys Basketball, collecing 270 votes. The Boys Basketball picked up Auburndale’s first title of Team of the Week with OnFocus.
Second place went to Newman Catholic Boys Basketball with 139 votes.

OnFocus Team of the Week, March 5 to March 11
- Whitehall Boys Basketball – Whitehall earned a trip to the WIAA Boys Basketball State Tournament with a 66-62 sectional final win over Cameron. The win gives the Vikings their first state tournament berth since 1986.
- Newman Catholic Boys Basketball – The Cardinals picked up a pair of wins in sectional play to earn a trip to the WIAA Boys State Basketball Tournament. Newman downed Pacelli 79-58 in the semifinals and then defeated Gibraltar 67-54 in the sectional final.
- UW-LaCrosse Men’s and Women’s Track Teams – The UW-La Crosse Men’s and Women’s teams took the titles at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, the first school in history to claim both titles. The women took the title with 59.5 points and the men took first with 35 points.
- La Crosse Central Boys Basketball – Central punched its ticket to state with a 48-44 sectional final win over New London Saturday afternoon in Marshfield. Central defeated Medford 57-41 Thursday evening in the sectional semifinal.
- Auburndale Boys Basketball – The Eagles took down Marawood Conference rival Marathon Thursday evening in a sectional semifinal, 55-47, avenging two regular season losses to the Marawood champion. Auburndale then hung close Saturday afternoon before dropping a 75-70 decision to St. Mary Catholic in the sectional final.
