Auburndale Cross Country: 6th Straight Trip to State Isn’t Getting Old

Auburndale (OnFocus) – The Auburndale Girls Cross Country team is accustomed to success, and in a season unlike any other, the Eagles are headed back to state. This marks the sixth consecutive year Auburndale has earned a trip to state, and it’s not getting old. Just ask Eagles’ Head Coach Joren Anderson.

Division 3 State Preview

“The girls are thrilled about making it to state again. It will be a new experience running at Maple Grove Venue in West Salem,” Anderson shared. “As a coach, I’m appreciative of the opportunity for the program to return to state for the sixth consecutive year and happy for the runners to be able to end their season at the culminating event.”

Preparation for the state meet has been pretty much the same as it has been all season.
“We have maintained our practice routine to stay consistent. We have discussed our goals for the State Meet and what we need to do to achieve them,” Anderson explained.

The Eagles’ boast a squad chock full of experience, Anderson added.
“Seniors Erricka Zenner and Lily Kloos are running at State for the fourth time and Juniors Jordyn Karl and McKenna Zieher are returning for the third time,” Anderson shared.
