Conference outlook

Colby will be solid again but they lose a lot of talent.  Edgar will be very good and in a position to challenge Colby for the Conference Championship.  Abbotsford is going to be solid as usual.  Marathon and Pittsville will both be very much improved.  We are hoping to be in the upper half and if things fall right we could be mentioned with the top teams.

Keys to your success on offense

Balance and playing with speed.  We have a lot of experience returning and that will hopefully allow us to be very confident.

Keys to your success on defense

We need to be true to our keys and not get lost with actions and misdirection.  We need to be fundamentally sound and we need to be aggressive.

What is your football program all about? How do you measure success?

We measure success by having kids that care for each other.  It is important that we perform as a team and be inclusive.  Winning is important to measure one’s work ethic and standards.  But as far as wins and losses, it isn’t talked about much at all.  We talk about the importance of giving everything of yourself, being coachable, and having high standards.

Coach’s comments: anything else you’d like to share?

We have a really nice group of kids.  Our numbers are up to 46 kids in the program, but our success will still depend on our health.
