PITTSVILLE – The Auburndale girls basketball team stifled Pittsville, holding the Panthers to just six made baskets in a 70-16 rout on Monday night at Pittsville High School.
The Apaches dominated from the start, jumping to a 40-12 lead by halftime and held Pittsville to only four points in the second half of the victory.
Auburndale is now 8-9 overall, while Pittsville drops to 2-12.
Georgie Schmutzer made three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 17 points for the Apaches. Mackenzie Raab added 10 points and Hailey Grimm had eight rebounds in the win.
Auburndale hosts Marathon in a Marawood Conference South Division game Friday.
