Baked or Fried?  An Inside Look at Stratford Football Coach Jason Tubbs

OnFocus: What sports did you play in high school?

Tubbs:   I played football, basketball, and baseball

OnFocus: How do amateur sports benefit students, parents, and the community?

Tubbs: Amateur sports builds a sense of community and develops kids to compete at different levels of competition as well as their own growth.

OnFocus: How have you been involved in sports in your adult life?

Tubbs:  Coaching football for the past 30 plus years has been a lot of fun, and coaching both of my kids in their youth sports has been an awesome experience. 

OnFocus:  What do you enjoy about your involvement in athletics?

Tubbs:  Watching our athletes mature into young men.  

OnFocus: If there could only be one concession food in the world, what would you want it to be?

Tubbs:  Reese’s peanut butter cups!

OnFocus: What would you do with the money if you won 10 millions dollars in the lottery?

Tubbs:  Update Stratford’s athletic complexes and live in Europe during the winter!

OnFocus: Is there something most people don’t know about you?

Tubbs: I love to travel and see historic sites any chance I get. 

OnFocus: What job did you want when you were growing up?

Tubbs:  I wanted to be MacGyver! 

OnFocus: What do you most enjoy watching on television?

Tubbs:  There are a lot of great shows to choose from, but any WWII series is always fascinating. 

OnFocus: Who was an influential coach that has  made a difference in your life?

Tubbs:  Dave Spies was my assistant football coach in Tomah and a great guy.  

OnFocus: How do you unwind and enjoy your free time?

Tubbs: Taking walks with my wonderful wife Kelli. 

OnFocus: What would be an appropriate Super Hero nickname for you, and what would your powers be?

Tubbs: Silence Dobad- Read people’s minds 

OnFocus: Who are your favorite athletes?

Tubbs:  Pete Rose and Reggie White

OnFocus: Who is your role model(s)?

Tubbs:   My parents have always been my role models
