Balanced Attack Key as Spencer/Columbus Takes Down Manawa

Manawa (OnFocus) – Spencer/Columbus kept its hopes alive for a CWC-Large Title with a 36-8 win over Manawa Friday evening.

S/C took the lead with a 51 yard touchdown run by Xane Adler in the first quarter.  The Rockets added first half touchdowns on a 47 yard run by Brock Bennington and a Cole Timmer to Bennington  26 yard score through the air.

Will Gorst added a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns on runs of 28 and 34 yards for the Rockets. Gorst led the Rockets with 120 yards on 9 carries.

“Xane Adler got us going early and really ran hard tonight,” said Spencer/Columbus Head Coach Jason Gorst. “Brock and Will joined him and we really liked our balanced rushing attack.”

Bennington(14 carrie) and Adler(13 carries) had 103 yards apiece for S/C.

“Defensively our coverage was great and we again forced turnovers,” Gorst added. “Proud of the effort tonight.”
