The beginning of the school year is right around the corner and local businesses are helping ease the transition for parents and kids. Last week, OnFocus spoke with Thrivent’s Nate Heeg about back-to-school financial planning. This week, we’re showcasing another way to save money during the school year, and even give back to the schools, thanks to Baltus Oil Company.

Not only does the longtime Marshfield business have a special “Pride Pump” at several of its Marshfield locations, with a portion of sales being donated to either Columbus or Marshfield schools, but they also offer a Rapid Rewards Club program that provides perks for users year-round.

“The Rapid Rewards Club is a multi-faceted reward program that’s available to our customers where they get free merchandise, get huge savings on gasoline, groceries, car washes, and more,” said John Baltus, owner. “It’s a very simple program to enroll in. You simply stop at any Bread & Butter Shop in Marshfield, Stratford, or Wisconsin Rapids to sign up.”

The Rapid Rewards Club features several sub-clubs where users earn points that can be redeemed for free milk, car washes, soda, chips, etc.

“All of your accumulated points are stored in our system, and a detailed summary of your rewards can be accessed at any time, so you don’t need to keep track of anything,” said Baltus. “Our program does all of the work for you.”

Baltus also recommends signing up for the text club to get daily texts for free stuff.

“For example, today’s text club give away is a free bag of M&M’s. Just stop by one of the Bread & Butter Shops, show the cashier the text on your phone, and you get a free bag of M7M’s, no purchase necessary,” he said.

For busy parents and hungry students, the Baltus Rapid Rewards Club program intends to make life a little bit easier.

“This month, with school starting in a few short weeks, we’ve included many back-to-school specials in the Rapid Rewards Club for parents to take advantage of,” said Baltus. “But they need to sign up for the program to be eligible.”
