Mosinee – The Mosinee Indians played well on offense and defense as the team took down the Marathon Red Raiders Friday night in the home opener, 44-9.
Quarterback Trey Fitzgerald led the Indians with three touchdowns in an air assault against the Red Raiders.
“It’s a great win. We prepared a lot in the offseason,” Fitzgerald said. “I feel like we wanted to come out here and get a win the first week of the season. We haven’t done that the last few years.”
Fitzgerald also stressed the importance of chemistry with his receivers. “We built that connection in the offseason and it showed tonight.”
Mosinee looks to remain undefeated as it travels to Onalaska to take on the Hilltoppers Friday, Aug. 24. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
