Big Night for Littman Helps Lift Chaparrals over Merchants

Marshfield – In the final home regular season game, Marshfield’s Austin Littman had three hits and three RBI’s on five at bats as the Chaparrals defeated the Everest Merchants 15-5 Wednesday night at Jack Hackman Field.

The Chaparral’s bats caught fire as the team scored eight runs in the third inning and five in the final inning, while picking up one run in the first and fifth innings.

Starting pitcher Ryan Metz worked through five and one-third innings, giving up just two runs and recording three strike-outs as he picked up the win for Marshfield.

With the win, the Chaparrals improve its overall record to 17-2.

Marshfield will close out the regular season with three road games. The Chaparrals will travel to take on Sparta Miller in the first road game that will be held Friday, August 3rd, with game time set for 7:30 p.m.
