Marshfield – The Wausau Bulldogs took down the Marshfield Blue Devil’s 4-1 Monday evening with a strong performance from the team’s defense that was credited with securing every out except one.
Marshfield’s Eli Drexler put the Blue Devils on the board first with an inside the park homerun in the first inning.
After the early score, the Bulldog’s defense tightened and prevented Marshfield from scoring the rest of the game.
Wausau went on to score a run in both the second and third innings and two runs in the fifth.
Forrest Kronberger led the Bulldogs in batting with two hits and two runs batted in on four plate appearances.
Pitcher Logan McCabe picked up the win for Wausau, giving up just one run in seven innings.
The Blue Devils return to the field on Thursday, July 12, as the team hosts Stevens Point. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
