The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Marathon County Dive Team, Neillsville Area Fire Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Bruce’s Legacy and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office searched the Black River on Sunday, May 3 and Monday, May 4 with no success.

On Monday evening, around 11:55pm, the Clark County 911 center received a call that someone had located the missing adult in the Black River. Upon arrival, officers were taken to a portion of the river about ¼ mile south of where the boat capsized.

They removed the missing boater, Perry Miller, 30 years old, who had died, from the water.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank everyone that helped assist us with the search for the missing boater.

The list of everyone that helped and responded to the scene is long but we would like to specifically recognize: the Wisconsin DNR, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin National Guard, Wisconsin Air National Guard, Marathon County Dive Team, Clark County Corner Richard Schleifer, Neillsville Area Fire Department, Bruce’s Legacy for assistance in searching, Pizza Hut and Subway for helping us feed the volunteers.
