Bonduel Boys Basketball’s Ryan Westrich Claims Title of OnFocus Athlete of the Week, March 16 – March 22
Bonduel Boys Basketball’s Ryan Westrich captured the final regular season installment of the area’s top athlete, collecting 555 votes to earn the title of OnFocus Athlete of the Week, March 16 – March 22.
Landon Lee/Chris Pohl of Marshfield Boys Basketball earned 318 votes and claimed second place.
OnFocus Athlete of the Week, March 16 – March 22
- Zavier Zens, Wisconsin Lutheran Boys Basketball – Zens came up big for Wisconsin Lutheran in their run to a Division 1 State Title. Zens scored 22 points in the thrilling 58-57 D1 state semifinal game, and then picked up 19 points in the Vikings’ 57-55 Championship Game win.
- Matthew Kloskey, Wauwatosa West Boys Basketball – Kloskey scored 51 points at state, leading Tosa to a Division 2 State Title. Wauwatosa West downed Wausau East 75-63 in the semifinal and then edged Racine Park 60-57 in the state title game.
- Ryan Westrich, Bonduel Boys Basketball – Westrich led the Bears with 20 points and 12 rebounds in their 59-41 state semifinal win over The Prairie School, and then tied for the team high of 11 points with Carter Moesch in the title game loss to Aquinas, 74-45.
- Cameron Lipinski, Cochrane-Fountain City Boys Basketball – Lipinski was instrumental for CFC enroute to a state title. Cameron scored 24 points in the state semifinal win over Turtle Lake, 66-54. Lipinski then added 17 points in the final, leading Cochrane-Fountain City to a 60-54 win over Sheboygan Lutheran and the Division 5 State Championship.
- Landon Lee/Chris Pohl, Marshfield Boys Basketball – Lee led Marshfield with 22 points in the Tigers’ narrow loss to Wisconsin Lutheran in the Division 1 State Championship game. Pohl picked up 17 points in Marshfield’s semifinal win over Waunakee, 57-47, and scored 10 points in the state title game.
