MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The Parks, Recreation and Forestry Division will be conducting invasive buckthorn removal in Hamus Park and Braem Park, beginning Monday, September 25th through October 2nd. Please avoid these areas when operations are present and stay a minimum of 300’ away if you encounter any machinery.

Buckthorn is one of Wisconsin’s most prevalent invasive plant species. This tall shrub causes multiple ecological problems due to its chemical makeup and the dense shade it casts. Buckthorn is recognized by its dark green round leaves and red-toblack berries, and occasional terminal thorns.

If you have any questions feel free to call the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Division at 715-486-2073.
