MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The Campus Community Players are going spooky in their Fall production of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”, adapted for the stage by Patrick Barlow.
“We’re all in the mood for a good ghost story right now, so we decided to perform the most famous ghost story of all,” said Andrew Spencer, Director. “There is no better way to enjoy this time of year than with this show. It’s got the thrills you crave for Halloween, the heart you need for Thanksgiving, and the celebration of family for Christmas.”
Talent abounds in “A Christmas Carol”. Greg Jackan takes the role of Ebenezer Scrooge, along with sixteen other cast members who become the famous Ghosts, the residents of London, and Scrooge’s memories. Cast members range in age from 11 on up and include UWSP Marshfield students Alison Skrenes, Halana Versey, and Mercedes Dingfelder, as well as many talented community members. “You’ll see veterans of this stage and first-timers to this stage, and even new faces to theater all at once,” said Andrew Spencer, Director. “It’s a wonderful experience.”
Set in 1840s London, “A Christmas Carol” tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge and the four paranormal encounters that change his outlook on life. “A Christmas Carol” tickets are available online right now at tickets.uwsp.edu for $20, or at the Box Office one hour before the show.
